General Questions
-
This is a loaded question I get all the time. While there are many avenues to get into voiceover, a great resource I recommend is https://iwanttobeavoiceactor.com/
-
I got my initial start in voiceover through courses offered with the VO Dojo, Actors Connection, and with The Great Audiobook Adventure. My career officially took off with audiobooks after being in the Penguin Random House Mentorship Program.

NO!
Being a voice actor is more than pursuing a dream. It's a long game and can take years before you see any money coming your way.
Keep your day job, and as you find yourself needing more time for VO because you're getting work, then you can go part time and eventually, full time.
But, in essence, it can cake anyone at a minimum of 2-5 years to actually get their career off the ground. Don't quit that day job! Set aside extra money earned for acting classes and improv workshops.
-
While every voice actor is different and every vertical requires a different toolkit, voice acting is acting. I (and a lot of other established voice actors) will always recommend a coach, regular acting classes and workshops, and a basic knowledge of the field you want to pursue. (For example; don't pursue audiobooks if you don't listen to them!)
Audiobooks

You can either go the indie route and just work with me (or my team) and upload to ACX.
The next option hires a brilliant production team to produce and promote your book.
Or you can go the semi-trad route! I work with publishers, too. (But I’m not an agent…)
-
I offer three main tiers of rates:
300PFH Is the basic starting package, getting you a completed, Audible-ready audiobook, edited and mastered by yours tuly!
My 380PFH brings along an award-winning engineer who can make your 'book baby' the audio quality of one of the big 5.
For a VIP experience, you get to work with me and one of my incredible production teams! (Email me for information.)
-
I also do the Royalty Share Plus model for 175PFH, as well as offer payment plans if you want to go with one of my PFH plans!
On the rare occasion that you’re on the cusp of something spectacular, I’d be willing to consider the Royalty Share model!
However, some authors with an incredible fan base raise funds through Kickstarter or Indiegogo.
-
I will do any audiobook length! Just know that I’ll still charge for an hour minimum, even if it’s just 5 minutes.
-
II always read your book first.
Then I work through highlighting (digitally, of course!) and notating specific beats and moments. This can take a little bit of time depending on the length of the book
I love it when my authors send character references or a dream cast!
-
I do!
So far, I've only been narrating on TikTok, but I've had thousands of viewers listening in and have gained tons of followers for my authors.
Plus, if you have a following, your excited readers can get a sneak peak into the action.
I love giving my authors moderator access so you can listen in and answer questions as they’re asked, promoting your book as I do so.
-
I need a digital form of your manuscript and a pronunciation guide for any words or names that you've invented or have multiple pronunciations online.
It’s optional, but I love a dream cast for if you ever cast your book as movie/show.
-
An audiobook can take anywhere from 2-5 weeks.
If we're going for a 300PFH, Royalty Share Plus, or Royalty Share, your book is going to take a little longer because I'm doing both the narrating and engineering.
At the 400PFH to VIP experience, however, you'll see your audiobook in as little as 2 weeks from the time we start working!

A ton! But my favorites are…
Dark romance
Mafia romance
Why choose
Sci-fi romance
Paranormal romance
New Adult
Romantic Fantasy
Basically, as long as your book has open door spicy scenes, gratuitous swearing, or graphic scenes, I’ll record it.
-
Trigger warnings are always a tough one…
I don’t enjoy recording anything that promotes abortion as empowerment.
I’ll record step-sibling romance, but no straightforward incest.
No sexual scenes involving children.
Consentual non-consent is okay, but non-consent is not.
Now… there’s a genre called erotic horror, of which I’ve narrated before. This book included non-consent, death, torture… a ton of things. (I think the trigger warnings took up 3-4 pages?) And I will record these books. But it has to be a specific genre.
And this one, in particular, had no HEA, which I didn’t mind!
Even if you think I wouldn’t be interested, reach out! I’d love to take a look at your book anyway and am always happy to let you know if we’d be a good team or not.
-
ABSOLUTELY!!
I even have a few male and female friends with whom I love to narrate. Together, we’d make the perfect team for your book.
And, hey, if you have someone in mind, I’m always happy to make a new friend!
